MCPBay is free while the platform is in beta. Below is exactly what that covers, the limits that keep it sustainable, and what will change when paid plans arrive.
Using servers
Free
Browsing the catalog, connecting a server to your AI client and signing in with an MCPBay account cost nothing. A third-party server may charge for its own service — that is set by its author, not by us.
Publishing to the catalog
Free
Submitting a server, moderation, the catalog listing and per-user usage statistics in your cabinet are free, whether the server runs on your infrastructure or ours.
Hosting on MCPBay
Free in beta
We build your server from a GitHub repository and run it on isolated infrastructure at name.run.mcpbay.pro, with the OAuth gate in front. No charge per server, per deployment or per tool call.
How we keep hosting free
Hosted servers sleep. The machine suspends when nothing calls it and wakes on the first request, so we pay only for the seconds your server actually works. The first call after an idle period takes a little longer than usual. There is no always-on mode.
Fair-use limits
- One machine per submission — 512 MB of memory, shared CPU.
- A server kept awake by constant background activity may be suspended. We write to you before anything is switched off.
- Hosting capacity is limited — moderation approves requests subject to available capacity.
- Outbound traffic is not metered today. A server that ships large files or bulk exports is the one case we may come back to you about.
When paid plans arrive
- At least 30 days' notice before anything is charged.
- The platform already meters your server's tool calls. A bill would be based on numbers you can watch growing in your cabinet, not on a surprise.
- Servers already published stay published. Nothing is removed from the catalog because a plan changed.
Ready to publish?
Submit your server to the catalog, with or without hosting. Moderation usually answers within a few days.
